Dr. Thomas U. Bamert has been working as an asset and tax planner for Bank Julius Bär & Co. Ltd. since March 2011. In addition to these fields of specialization, his areas of special competence also include pension scheme product management and project work. Between 2005 and 2011 he held various positions at Swiss Life AG. In his last position at Swiss Life, he was business development project manager for the company's own distribution channel; before that he had been head of market research and market strategy project manager for Switzerland, and he had worked in product management. Before being hired by Swiss Life, he had done teaching and research in the marketing department of the University of Zurich. In addition to his main professional activity, Dr. Bamert works as a part-time lecturer in marketing as well as in services and operations management at the University of Zurich. He is author or co-author of various studies and essays on marketing and management topics, and he is often invited to serve as a consultant. Dr. Bamert studied at the University of Zurich, obtaining a doctorate in psychology and economics with specialization in marketing. His post-graduate studies in financial consulting at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences expanded his expertise in financial planning and tax issues.

Michael Boenigk studied business management at the University of Münster, where he specialized in marketing as well as distribution and trade. Between 1995 and 1999, he was research assistant for Prof. Manfred Bruhn in the department of marketing and corporate management of Wirtschaftswissenschaftliches Zentrum (WWZ) at the University of Basel. For two and a half years after that, he was head of marketing, communications planning and advertising for Swissair and SWISS. Since May 2002, Dr. Boenigk has been head of the Competence Center for Corporate Communications at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and head of further education at the Institute for Communications and Marketing (IKM).

ycDr. Yves Cheridito

Dr. Yves Cheridito has been CEO at Wineus Investment & Consulting since August 2008. Wineus is a boutique Private Equity firm based in Zurich, Switzerland. Wineus’ team of outstanding specialists engages in direct investments in promising companies within selected market segments and struc-tures and implements custom-tailored financial operations. Dr. Yves Cheridito is also member of various governing boards of Swiss companies. Between 1999 and 2008 he worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers in Switzerland and Australia. In Switzerland he was responsible for all valuations of intellectual assets, in particular of brands, patents, databases and customer relationships. As project leader he was in charge of approximately 200 valuations and merger & acquisition transactions. Dr. Yves Cheridito studied at the University of Zurich, obtaining a doctorate with specialization in corporate finance and banking. His doctoral thesis about brand valuation is still a significant milestone and important reference work in the area of quantitative brand valuation.

Sita Mazumder is lecturer and project manager at the Zug Institute for Financial Services of Lucerne University of Applied Sciences. In addition to her work for the IFZ, she also runs her own consulting company, PURPLE. She began her professional activity by studying information science and engineering at ETH Zurich, then switching to economics at the University of Zurich. She launched her first consulting company even before completing her studies, and was involved in a number of other professional activities. In 2001, Sita Mazumder obtained her doctorate "summa cum laude" from the Swiss Banking Institute. One year later, she won the annual research award of the University of Zurich. In 2004, after a research fellowship at the Leonard N. Stern School of Business of New York University, Dr. Mazumder joined the staff of Eidgenössische Bankenkommission (now FINMA, the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority). She has published several books and articles. In addition to her activity as a member of administrative and trusteeship boards, she has been a columnist and is now a part-time lecturer at the University of Zurich, the University of St. Gallen, the Swiss Academy of Auditors and other institutions.

Cyril Meier, 58, has been head of the department of communications at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences for Business Administration (Zürcher Fachhochschule) since 2003. The department currently has some 600 bachelor and master students. He graduated in American studies from the University of Zurich and has an Executive MBA from the University of St. Gallen. The milestones of Cyril Meier's professional life include positions as senior consultant for Farner PR, director of corporate communications for the Sulzer Group and director of marketing & communications for Andersen Schweiz.

Maurice Pedergnana studied economics at the University of St. Gallen from 1984 to 1988. In 1992 and 1993 he had a scholarship at Sophia University in Tokyo. Back at the University of St. Gallen, he completed a doctoral dissertation on "Competitiveness and factors for success of Swiss enterprises in foreign markets as investigated in examples on the Japanese market)". From 1989 to 1991 he worked as an assistant for Malik Management Zentrum in St. Gallen. He was then management consultant for small and medium-sized enterprises at Creative Consulting, a position he left in 1996. From 1997 to 2000, he was employed by Viability Consulting AG as a consultant for controlling and management information systems for public institutions. At the same time, he lectured at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences in Winterthur from 1997 to 2001. Since 2000, Dr. Pedergnana has held a professorship at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences. He is head of the MAS bank management program and deputy director of IFZ, the Zug Institute for Financial Services (with approx. 70 employees). On behalf of IFZ, and operating from the premises of Lucerne University of Applied Sciences, he is managing director of Swiss Private Equity & Corporate Finance Association SECA. He is also a member of various governing boards (Viability Consulting AG, SIM Research Institute AG, Zugerberg Finanz AG, Uniserv AG and Zürcher Kantonalbank).

Martin Schneider is managing partner of the firm of patent and trademark attorneys Schneider Feldmann AG and partner of the Grüter Schneider & Partner law firm. Before holding these positions, he was part-time legal secretary of the Swiss federal appeals commission for intellectual property matters (1998-2006) and section head at the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property (3 ½ years). He was also license manager and controller for the Rieter Group (5 years), a position which involved longer stays in France and England. In 1989 he completed a doctoral dissertation on the "protection of industrial and trade secrets from unauthorized exploitation". Martin Schneider has widely published in the field of intellectual property, including (as co-author) "Integrale Markenführung" and "Banks and Brands". He is also involved in various professional organizations in the field of licensing (president of LES Licensing Executives Switzerland; chairman of the Trademark & Character Licensing Committee LES International [LESI]) and intellectual property (Swiss AIPPI group; Ingres; ASPTA Association of Swiss Patent and Trademark Attorneys).
